Show a colleague how it's done.

Documentation software for employees.

Turn the work you know into instructions others can follow. Capture a process, help a new teammate get started, or leave a clear handover.

Start locally on Windows. No account needed to begin.

Colleagues gathered around a table with their laptops
A little context.
A much easier handoff.

For the things you explain
more than once.

Put a process into words.

Document a recurring task with the screens, steps, and exceptions that make it easier for someone else to get it right.

Welcome a new teammate.

Give them a guide to their first expense claim, team report, or internal tool. Leave the useful details somewhere they can find them again.

Make training easier to revisit.

Turn a software demonstration into step-by-step instructions. Colleagues can work at their own pace and return to the part they need.

One example: handing over a recurring task

Leave the steps.
Take your time off.

You're away next week. A colleague is running the monthly report, and there's one filter that's easy to miss.

Capture the process while you do it. Add a note at that filter. Share a guide they can come back to on Monday.

The monthly report

A few notes for when I'm away.

  1. 1

    Open the reporting dashboard

Use the usual team link and choose the previous month.

  2. 2

    Check the date filter

    Date rangePrevious calendar month

This is the easy-to-miss bit. The dashboard opens on the current month.

  3. 3

Export and share with the team

Add the report to our shared folder and send the link.

Start with a task
you already do.

You don't need to begin with a blank document. Build the guide from the work itself.

  1. 1

    Capture the steps.

Record a browser process or capture the relevant screens as you work through the task.

  2. 2

    Add what you know.

Reorder the steps, explain the exceptions, and annotate or redact the screenshots before sharing.

  3. 3

    Share the guide.

Publish for the right audience or export a file. Use it in onboarding, link it from training notes, or include it in your handover.

Before you begin

A few practical
questions.

Do I need an account to start?
You can start using the Windows app locally without creating an account. Cloud sharing, sync, and AI-assisted features require an account and the relevant configuration.
Does my colleague need to install UIHike?
No. Public or link-shared guides can be opened in a browser without a UIHike account. Private guides require the appropriate access.
Can I hide sensitive information?
Yes. You can redact parts of a screenshot before sharing or exporting. Edits preserve the original image, so review the output and be careful about sharing the source project too.
Can I capture something outside my browser?
The Windows app supports window and region captures, so you can include desktop applications alongside browser content. Browser recording captures interaction details; a Windows screenshot does not include the same browser context.
Is UIHike free?
UIHike is currently free during beta. Some features may have costs in the future. See the current pricing details before getting started.
